The deal I've gotten there is REALLY good. Benefits out the wazoo. They've even got it set up to where they can pay back up to $20,000 of my college loan. I owe a little more than $22,000 so that's an offer that I really CANNOT refuse. I can't pass that up. I wasn't getting anything like that from anywhere else at all. The benefits kick in uber-quick and that was a major help in my decision. I'm going to call in the morning to check on when I need to get my TB & Tox screens done for everything. Hopefully that can be done this week so the process gets going.
I don't want to have to move to Little Rock, but I can't pass up on the opportunity that I'm being given with this. It would just be a stupid decision on my part to miss that. If somebody thinks they can tell me different, I'll whip out the paperwork I was given and let you compare it to whatever offer you've got. These people WANT a student fresh out of college and everywhere else I was looking they were wanting some experience if at all possible.
This is a new position. Six months training on the day shift (minus 6 weeks in Chemistry on the night shift) at base pay and then when I hit night shift (including Chem) I get a 20% differential. That's 20% more pay because of the night shift, folks! Okay, okay. So it's not Second shift like I wanted. It's 10p-8a, but it's 4 days a week. That means I'll have at least three days off during the week. I know for a FACT that I'll be working Monday nights, but other than that, I think the schedule is kinda in the air considering how my "partner" will be situated. I'm supposed to offset some days that she's not working. That's why the position was created.
Well. Wish me luck. I'm going to start looking for some places in/around Little Rock. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
So... What have I been doing to entertain myself? I've been trying to write a bit. Finally broke through some of my writer's block. A teeny bit really. Working on something else that's been in my head for quite a while. I just can't ever find the right words. I'll poke it up on here eventually... or in my other journal. Don't know which yet.
p.s. -- STILL not back. Checking in from Grandparent's again. ;)
