My grandmother is in the hospital. She's having trouble with that kidney that she has left. Her creatinine, which is supposed to be 0.8, has spiked to 12.0 and it is overworking her kidney. They're putting her on dialysis tonight so that they can pull some of that out of her blood to let her kidney rest. Then they're going to try to figure out WHY her body is freaking out. Then there's the blood coming from her GI tract somewhere, but they can't figure that out until they get her rehydrated and her kidney functioning properly again.
I should be more upset about this, but I'm not because I've accepted that something is going to happen to her because she won't take care of herself as the doctors want her to. My grandfather says that the doctors are getting fed up with her because she's not following their orders. It sucks. My mother is upset, somewhat, and my aunt is a little more neurotic than usual. Right now, they're all staying WITH ME in my tiny box of an apartment.
The plus side of today - I visited with my grandfather for two hours. It was nice.
