Do you usually experience a let-down after the holidays or a wave of relief that the social obligations are over?
And just because I checked it...
I usually experience a let-down. I don't know why. I think it's because I was so happy and the anticipation was awesome, but once the whole thing is finished and I've seen my family I'm kinda "aw" about it all. I guess I expect more than I get now. When I was a kid, Christmas just seemed a lot different. Now it just seems like something we do because it's tradition rather than because we want to.
Of course, then there's the fun of buying presents. Once that's over, what reason do I have to buy things for people without them thinking that they owe me something? I love to buy little gifts and Christmas just allows me to do that without guilt. Otherwise, people would feel they owe me something (and a few still do even though I said I don't care if I get any gift-backs). I'm just glad that everyone enjoyed their presents. :)
